| JUDGE MAIER |
There is a potential third Democratic
candidate for City Court judge which, if attorney Keith Gorman is successful in
getting enough signatures, would force a primary.
Incumbent Chris Maier is looking to
get re-elected to a second term, and Corporation Counsel Ian Silverman also has
the backing of the Democratic Party proper for the newly created full time,
$113,900 a year judicial position in Troy City Court.
The lone Republican to express an
interest is attorney Jill Kehn.
The way the elections - primary and
general - will work, though, is the two candidates with the highest vote total
will win so Maier will not simply defend his seat while the other two vie for
the new spot.
Gorman has a practice based in
Latham. Sources say he picked up walking sheets, petition forms and maps from the Board of Elections.

Chris Maier is good as gone he made way to many mistakes this time around
Economy is bad not a good time to be fleecing the poor people.
The poor and down trodden have got his number votes count more then ever and he is good as gone
I know Wade wants Silverman but there are many of us in the party who don't agree. His legal handling of the mayor and deputy mayor leaves a lot to be desired. I'll opt for Gorman.

DeleteI think Wade needs to have his head examined. Some of his choices over the past few years are mind-boggling at best. Anyone connected to Wade seem to flop like a fish after about 2 years.

DeleteBrian's busy working for Kenny and Rodney. All were dealt a huge blow the other night when Kenny got thrown out as committeeman and Rodney and Doherty were advised the would not get the dem endorsement. Whoever was out here spouting Rabbit and crew were taking over underestimated Wade.

The time for change is now. I think we should get rid of the incumbents and put in new blood. My support is going to Keith Gorman. He has the experience we need and handles himself like a true professional. When you add considerate and nice to the package, it's a win win situation. If you don't know Gorman, you should check him out. A good choice.
ReplyDeleteTroy is trying to make a come back and from what I saw at the Farmers Market Saturday, it has a chance. In order to be successful, change has to take place. Let's thank our incumbents for their efforts and tell them their job is done. New era, new officials. Time for them to step off the pulpit and recognize that they are not God. We need maturity, professionalism, and most of all experience! I am not familiar with Jill Kehn but I do know Keith Gorman's reputation. Someone else wrote that he would be a win win choice. I have to agree. He would have my vote and a lot of others that I know of.
