More than 30 minutes of video from inside Kokopellis show scene different than incident reports indicate

After being up for a few days, someone took the video feed off YouTube which in turn made the videos private. Sorry you can't view them any longer and I'm trying to find another copy. When I do, I will post.

Here they are.

I have just received 31 minutes and 13 second of surveillance video from inside Kokopellis presumably by surveillance cameras showing four different angles. I don’t know who did the “narration” and I can't verify it's accuracy but it seems like an accurate portrayal of what transpired early Saturday morning. Segments of the videos have been out there already. However, unlike a two or three minute spot on television, these are as I got them.
The videos do seem to show a scene contrary to what is in the incident reports written by police officers on the scene as reported in the Times Union today. According to that story, the incident reports and 911 calls, which the paper did not hear, say police came upon chaos inside and outside the bar and had no choice but to use force.

Watch the videos and I’ll write more later on today.

    2. Their has been alot of police abuse and brutality coming from the Troy Police Dept. Their so called pain compliance techniques are a bogus name for police brutality! Their is a lot of assaults by the Troy police on innocent citizens as well. The Police chief John Tedesco is under investigation for excessive force practices himself and illigally appointed Police Commisionser Anthony Magnetto is also in on the excessive force practices and these two are not thier to supervise their out of control officers.

The Troy City Counsel is investigating them and very well should be investigating them for this and other multiple claim of their police abuse! I urge the Troy citizens to call for both their resignations and to call Rodney Wilshires and Doherty Office as well as the Mayors office Lou Rosimilla and demand an OUTSIDE INVESTIGATION, due to an internal investigation is a whitewash and COVER-UP of their illegal actions...

I urge all Troy Citizens and VOTERS to call these 3 represntatives of the people and demand that the take action and outside investigative actions! Demand that they do this and do not settle! Let them know that millions of Troy citizens all over our city will Vote them out in the next election if they do not do this outside investigation only...

Keep Calling these three representatives continously and demand they have the Chief and Commissioner who are all in it together to resign for these illegal excessive force practices immediately!
Do not take no as an answer! Use your power on the phone and keep calling them and demanding this no more.. and for the Troy City Consel to stay independant from these investigations as well.. The People of Troy need an Outside investgation or it will keep happening! These Troy officiers have manangement or supervision and are practicing police abuse to innocent customers establishments and citizens in Troy...

Take action All people in Troy and Keep Calling them and keep at it no matter what! The people of Troy and the voters want action taken by these representative immediately or vote them out for it!

Keep informing citizens of Troy that these officers are out of control and assaulting innocent citizens and not being held accountable for their police abuse! Citizens of Troy Keep Calling these representatives and speak up Now! A Voter who demands action from these three representatives now!

  2. Wow. Thanks for the footage.

It looks like Donely said something to the cops, who then shoved him. Necessary force? Not sure about that.

The view from the bar to the front door tells a lot of the story. It's not only Donely getting hit, but it looks like others? Whoever let off the extinguisher, appeared to be trying to divert what was happening...which worked.

I was neutral on this before seeing the footage. After watching it, it really doesn't look good. The extinguisher wasn't thrown (unless I missed it), the cops seem ok and there was A LOT of force that, judging from the video, could of been avoided.

  3. Why am I not surprised? This has been happening for so long and I believe that change needs to be made, it is disgusting and they chose to be officers, if you don't like your job then quit!

  4. Seems to me the said police injuries are to cover up their own rampage! Where is their Iinjuries. They were all fine walking out of the bar

    1. not only were all the so called injurys the cops claim is what excuses there use of potential deady force inside the bar that that used BEFORE any of there officers were injured because they all supposedly happened after the bar was cleared and all happened after including the garbage can lid being thrown. But yesterday they anounced they arrested a bar tender for serving a 19 year old undercover agent. and claim they have it on film which dont make any sense being film cant tell if its a soda or some thing alcoholic. But its gets even more convoluted being at last nights press confrance the tried to show video the police took of the SAME person that just yesterday They said was the 19 year old undercover that was served and its the same person they show and said threw the garbage can lid at the cops out side after. SO they dont even realize that they just slipped and admitted it was on of there own undercover agents that they used as an agent provocateur to try and cause a riot. By throwing a garbage can lid at on of the cops. AFTER the cops beat up the guy in side. They also must of ha this all pre planed being they also are now admitting they have a mobile command unit there all night watching the place and video tapering it all.

    1. Yea, but we don't a time stamp for that? The 911 calls are for 2:30am and the time for these videos is 20 minutes later. Everything is calm by this time. Guessing those incidents were before this.

  9. What I find most telling in the videos is the bartender who let the cops in, goes over and keeps his hand on a night stick. He must have thought everything was under control too, and had no reason to worry for his safety, right?

    1. Wouldnt u be in fear of your safety in this situation? i am an after hours waitress who gets all this rif raff after the bars serving them food i sometimes am in fear of my life.. the bartenders come in my diner regularly they are very nice respectful people and like myself have familys at home to feed. Noone should have to work like that! Im glad police handled it the way they did!

    2. That was the point. The situation wasn't under control when the police arrived, or immediately after. The staff was holding weapons to protect themselves.

  10. What I find interesting about this crowd is there is over 200 people in a bar 33 minutes of video and not one patron buys a drink. Rodney care to weigh in?

    1. Did you really expect that? They'll never admit to any wrong doings.

    2. This is not true, Council President Wiltshire and Councilman Doherty are bound and determined to have these officers punished. They see right through the mayor's indifference and will prevail in holding these cops responsible and changing the policy in the PD.

    3. we do have a problem that needs to be addressed... the ever increasing population of wanna-be-ganstas that are creating all the crime and keeping Troy from becoming a nice place to be.

But we can't point that out or we're quickly labelled as a racist right?

      Delete
    4. Well if the city would just fire the wanna-be-ganstas from the force maybe troy could be a nice place again some day. oh and btw when police are calling people coons and so arnt there supporters and saying they dont know why every one is up in arms that they just beat up some animals monkeys coons and N*&%rs its pretty hard to also claim they arnt racists. Or that its not race biased. esp when they are also saying if the place didnt serve there kind then there would not of been any problem thats just proof that its race biased.

  13. I guess I'm not clear on why it's ok for the police to beat on people who aren't doing anything wrong, just because they're near people who are.

  14. It's been stated from someone who was at the party, there wasn't any bottles being served. They were served in plastic cups, even the shots. So, where do the bottles fit in this whole event? I think the bar should be able to back that up if in fact it's true. No where do I see that when the police entered, they were hit with bottles or spit on.

    1. Look in the bottom right hand corner at 01:33 (YouTube video time) in the Bar Front Cam video. The lady with the cell phone is holding a bottle in her left hand.

  15. When the 8 officers names are finally released, the records should be checked to see how many are involved in other arrest where "pain control" was applied. I can guess some names show up repeatedly. Here's a demand that should be implemented. Random drug and alcohol testing should be implemented. Steroids as well included. Ready for duty just like Albany. I bet that would be a telling regarding some of the behavior. Troy can choose to ignore what's in their face, until somebody is killed by their officers. Right now there is a problem that can be fixed if they choose, if not the repercussions can be fatal. FIX IT NOW, while you can!,

  16. I initially commented in support of the Troy police... After watching this - while Donely doesn't look like an innocent bystander - the TPD looks to be overreacting extremely and the way they described what happened doesn't look substantiated at all.

So to recap - to say Donely did nothing wrong is inconclusive - he at least looks at one point to lunge toward the police. However, the story the Police told is a bunch of BS.. It seems to me you need to do what we all were taught in kindergarten and sit Donely down with the police, and he can apologize for being a bonehead, and the police can apologize for abusing the public trust and using unnecessary force that couldn't gotten a lot more people hurt. They can all then hug and we can move on with our lives.

  19. What about the additional units sent from New York State Police, Green Island, Watervliet, Menands, Cohoes, and Colonie? What about the groups that left the bar and climbed on cars and urinating on doors of nearby homes? What about this petition going around to have Wiltshire removed, for siding with Bacote and ignoring the citizens of the city. What about asking for the Chief of Police to resign when he has been stripped of his duties for over a year? What about the Commissioner that took over all of the Chiefs duties? What about this bar serving to minors? What about the fact this city re-elected the do nothing city council that thinks they can rewrite the rules for themselves? Lots of armchair commentators, before all the facts are out there. Sorry Jim, to speculate to what is true is one thing but to contribute to the ever changing story as Willie said the other night, it is about race it is us against them, why fuel the fire?

  20. Having viewed each of these tapes, it is obvious that TPD has a lot of explaining to do, esp. the Union President and Comm. Magnetto. Every time "Mag" is in power, an event like this clearly illegal one happens and all of sudden - oops - time for him to retire on our tab! That's how Tedesco got the Chief job, which is to say, by actually earning it, being reputable, keeping costs down and service up. However, we have many, many corrupt officers, and, regardless if they are found guilty of anything (they won't), the whole world now knows what a bunch of crooks they are. I am extremely happy to see Alice Green involved, as that means it cannot be business as usual in Troy, NY. "Mag" really pulled the wool over the Dems'. eyes (the elected ones are not very bright people) and, again, that's another Troy story - where the crooks wear TPD patrol uniforms and the good guys get into trouble. Welcome to Troy, kids! Oh, and don't forget to stop in at Charles F. Lucas, where, regardless of how packed it is, you won't see TPD in there, busting people for made-up reasons. Yup, that's Troy!

  21. Tedesco sucked up to Harry and was, in his words, the only GOP candidate. That is the only reason he got the job. Not discounting his years on the force, but his appointment was purely political. Everyone knows that.

    2. The reason for this mess is Tutunjian and Tedesco being GOP and Magnetto being a Dem? get a sniff of reality. How about Lou Rosammilia being the weakest mayor ever? Rodney, Willie, Cox, Glick and many, many more smell his weakness. You were right Lou "this isn't troy".

  26. We need to implement random drug and alcohol testing of TPD officers and require them to follow the law and live in our City. We need live here and send their children to our schools. It would really change the way in which they react to the public, esp. the African American community here. We need a citizen's review board and internal as well as external supervision of the TPD. As Mrs. Green stated in so many words, the TPD have a long and proud history of racism, excessive force and corruption here. It is time to break the Code of Blue. There have to be a few in there who would be willing to tell the truth. Rodney, this is your time to govern and do the right thing!

    1. Stop making this about race, it has nothing to do with it. If they used excessive force not for me to decide, but it wasn't a racial beating. You are taking an incident an using it as a smokescreen. Two of the other alleged excessive force cases were filed by white men, where was your outrage then?

    2. I garee that TPD officers should live in the city. That would give them more interest in making tTroy a nicer place to be. It does seem like they just show up to a call, write a report and move on to the next call.. without actually caring about a positive outcome. If they lived here, maybe they'd care more about getting these vandals, drug dealers and prositutes off our streets.
