Let the exodus begin (UPDATED)

MORRIS
The first person of Mayor Lou Rosamilia’s administration is jumping ship.
The final day for spokesman Michael Morris will be April 17, according to a source in City Hall. Last week, Rosamilia announced he would not seek a second term.
Morris came to the administration after Rosamilia had already had a tough two years. He was the spokesman during a time when the city’s financial dilemma came to light, during the first Council investigation into a sitting administration in 36 years and during the Lansingburgh frozen pipe fiasco.
In other words, he was in a tough spot. In many ways it was just too late to have a shot at salvaging anything and he was thrown into the rough and tumble world of Troy politics where grudges can last decades and alliances just minutes.
Morris was working for the state Assembly until taking over for spokeswoman Jessica Sibley in May, 2014. Sibley became the mayor’s spokeswoman in April, 2013. She took over for Michael Frasier, who went to work for Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb after working a year for Rosamilia.
It’s unclear where he will work next. It's also unclear whether or not Rosamilia will fill the spot for his final nine months in office.
Morris said he does have a new gig but preferred not to disclose what or where it is. He did give this statement:

"I appreciate the opportunity given to me last March by Mayor Rosamilia and I really enjoyed working with he and Deputy Mayor Pete Ryan."

    3. 15 years ago President of the council Frank Laposta led a council investigation of Deputy Mayor Jim Conroy and the $27,000 he steered to his family. Anyone remember that! Frank again showed his independence and integrity.

  5. Morris channeled the Ghost of Buell for inspiration during his time @cityfloor. Both he and the Buellabaker will donate their beard hair to the Make A Kid Happy With The Gift Of A Hair Pillow Foundation - who by the way will be renting offices at the Jim Conroy Methadone Clinic.

    1. 44% tax base....and 98% of a county budget that goes to public assistance makes it tough for any hardcore troy lover to stay, and even those are starting to get pissed off. Get ready for a City of non-working people and a joseph house at every other building.

    2. That's the dem mantra, enslave people with government handouts and warn them if they vote republican they be not getting they checks. Regardless of how despicable it is New York State is proof positive it works.

    3. Tedesco lives in Colonie. He is only concerned in abolishing the Police Commissioner in the Charter. He has no business on the commission.

  11. The City of Troy really doesn't need a "spokesperson" for the Mayor. Let each Mayor speak for themselves.

    1. Seen Peter Ryan with Bill Macinerny today. The heat is on Peter and he's reaching out to an expert on this one. He knows he can't go all Kevin McGrath and rat people out because he's to involved just like McInerney was in voter fraud. Now the only thing is did McInerney give real advice or is he helping his old friend Bill Dunne. Peter doesn't know who to trust or what to do will be reaching out to John Brown next.

  26. Isn't it a violation of the ethics law where County Executive Jimino is hosting a $75 per person fundraiser for her employee JIm Gordon, who does political work at county job and would need need County Executive's permission to run for mayor while holding county job? Seems like a clear conflict of interest.

  28. To 3:26, that should be just about everyone in City Hall who answered any questions from the Feds or the City Council, because they all lied about something. The two that should be thanked for bringing this all about and believed are Russ Reeves and Barb Tozzi. And no, I don't and never have worked for the City of Troy.
