Two bludgeoned to death in Lansingburgh, one worked in city Rec. Dept.

On the day residents of Lansingburgh are holding a rally to protest a spate in crime, two people were found bludgeoned to death in their neighborhood.
Police were called to 709 First Ave. shortly after 2:30 a.m. for what they thought was a domestic disturbance. When they arrived they found a man and a woman beaten to death with a baseball bat. They are looking for two males driving a blue 2013 Ford Escape. The SUV is registered to a person living at the home, according to the Times Union.
The newspaper is reporting the dead man is a longtime city worker but police are not releasing the names or ages. The couple has been identified as Michael Allen Lockrow, who worked in the city Parks and Recreation Department, and his wife Maria.
The stretch of First Avenue is home to a number of trailers that back up to the Hudson River.
The rally, which was slated before the double homicide, will start at 6 p.m. tonight at Powers Park and it is billed as a way for citizens to show police they are ready and willing to help take their neighborhood back.
More information as it becomes available.

  2. Alan was affectionately known as pigeon to people from Lansingburgh who knew and loved him. He was a gentle man who was always happy. I was proud to call him a life long friend. Please Troy PBA catch these bastards.

    1. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend but you can't blame the Council for a crime someone else committed. In time you will realize this. I understand the anger you are feeling. Maybe, just maybe, with this loss, City of Troy employees THAT ACTUALLY LIVE and WORK here can unite and join the residents of the Burgh in their crusade against CRIME

    2. You're right no one on the council killed this good man and his wife. Your defense of the council who's hearts bleed Kommie leads me to this. "Go fuck yourselves" scumbags.

  3. Hey Jim Gordon, where are the gangs and the drugs on this one? You can't keep blaming crime on drugs and gangs (key word -- minorities) in hopes to get elected to some higher position.

    1. Maybe because when Kevin McGrath was councilman, Jim Gordon was front and center blaming him for everything from car break-ins to heavy rain and feral cats. And now we have six murders in eight months, all on Gordon's watch, but there's simply nothing he can do? Now that's pretty funny.

    2. Maybe when hundreds of his constituents gather in a public place to protest the crime wave occurring under his watch, he could.... I don't know, show up? Just a thought.

    5. At least Anastasia was out of the state on a planned trip and couldn't get back. Jim Gordon just blew it off. And then puts out statement criticizing about it?! He and Tedesco are fucking useless. USELESS. Throw the bums out!

  5. Hey city hall: get rid of this police chief. By my count, there have been 9 homicides since he took over in February!!!!!!! Overall crime in the city has jumped by more than 35% since February. Get a clue.

    1. Who's supposed to be in charge of this city? The chief or the mayor? I believe the mayor is the CEO-leader-boss- over all city departments. Never has this city been so bad and you blame the chief not the mayor. Get your head out of your ass.

    2. I agree with 5:16. Time to get rid of this police chief. If im the ceo of this city, im firing my police chief.

    4. zero murders in Troy in 2013 when there was a Police Commissioner. So far, nine murders in 2014 with this chief of police - and we havent even finished the summer yet.

    5. 9:43 where are you getting those stats? You better look again or are you blind ? There were 6 or 7 murders in 2013 ! We also had arsons, shooting, car break-ins, gang assaults and the list goes on. The only thing the Commissioner did was relieve city taxpayer's of $30,000.

    6. 4:26: I get my stats from the news. Speaking of, I heard a local newspaper will be doing a story on the fact there were zero murders in 2013 when there was a commissioner and now 9 in seven months under this police chief

  11. I can relate!
My own family member was found dead in his Lansingburgh apartment and we suspected he was murdered, not the Troy Police thou, the Troy Police on the scene actually gave permission to the person (a stranger to us and the suspected murderer who found our brother dead) to drive off in my brother's car without our family knowing. The family had to discover the car was gone and retrieve it ourselves after key items had already been removed from the vehicle. That's Troy Police work! Don't trust them to get anything right!
