And yet another shooting in Troy

Police say a man was shot near the corner of 101st Street and Sixth Avenue in North Central.
The suspect, a black male wearing a black t-shirt, jeans and a red baseball cap, is described as mid to late teens, about 5-foot tall with braids coming out from under his hat.
He was last seen fleeing into the woods behind Corliss Park. A State Police helicopter and K-9s are assisting Troy police in the search.
The condition of the victim is unclear at this time.
This comes on the heels of a spate of crime including a shooting Tuesday and the brutal beating death of two people on First Street. No arrests have been made.

At around 11:30 p.m., there were reports that the shooter was in custody.

  2. Lou working behind the scenes. Return to academia your sheltered life made you whole this mayor thing isn't working out... Thugs: Win/Innocent: Lose

Chief: Contrary to belief crime is stable BIG JOKE. Plus it seems from the interview on 13 in my opinion Thugs WIN/Innocent LOSE. Troy should ask Mr PC Krokoff to come over what next Chief questionare's after you interact with the Police!

Reality: Manipulating crime stats. My opinion.

Local media reports if the crime happens during banking hours. Thugs Win Innocents Lose

Residents: The bigger the lie the more they believe until it happens in your own neighborhood, family, friends, etc.

    1. I don't see what's funny 721. Crime CAN happen anywhere and until you or someone you love is a victim of it, you won't be able to relate. Grow up.

  5. Highest homicide rate in all of New York State. Fire this police chief and appoint someone competent enough to solve this violent crime problem.

  6. I just watched the 11 news and watched dumb and dumber stand side by side at city hall and tell us how they have no idea on how to solve this crime wave.

    1. Either bloods or crypts, I read an article on the colors one time and it gave all the colors of gangs and who was the worst. Bloods are up there but they are everywhere and there is even worse than them here in Albany

  10. Aren't these council people calling for a reinstatement of a street crimes unit and more aggressive policing of crime ridden areas the same ones who wet their pants over the police handling of the disturbance at Kokopellis???? What a bunch of morons.

    1. Do what they gotta do to get rid of the situation. I just am afraid by deploying all the extra force there and stating that's what they are doing, the thugs will disperse in other areas if Troy. I say add state police into the patrol too

    2. The state police have to patrol other towns and villages that do not have a police dept. where would you like the state police to pull these troopers out of? Thin Air? They don't have enough man power to patrol Troy as well as the outlying towns and villages.

  12. I hope Jim Gordon took appropriate time off for the press conference. We don't pay county taxes to have him grandstand!

    1. Grandstanding at Whitney Young a couple of weeks ago too, couldn't possibly be related to Stop DWI work. Did he use personal time? Can we FOIA the time sheets?

    2. I believe you can FOIL them, that's why employees of Troy don't want the new system to monitor them

  13. Jim the only state police units that assisted were the helicopter guys. The K9s were both from Troy Police and did a hell of a job tracking in what the officers were calling a very think wooded terrain. And in the end our boys in blue from Troy caught the bad guy. Obviously these guys are willing to do their job above and beyond for the residents of Troy. It's about time we back them and give them the resources they so desperately need.

    4. It just kills Harry's people that Tedesco has finally shown to be the fuckup everyone knew he was. When Magnetto was commissioner, every time Harry and Jim Gordon saw a piece of litter they were blaming Magnetto and screaming about how ineffective he was . Now that he's gone and their golden boy is back in charge, the city is burning, people are dying and resdents are afraid to come out of their homes. But now its somehow the mayor's fault? Last time we checked TEDESCO was the chief of police. The buck stops with him. TEDESCO is the one who won't change tactics or being back the SCU. What do Harry and Jim Gordon say about that? *Crickets*

      Disgusting hypocrites.

  19. Had dealings with both Bloods and Crips. Not people you want to mess with. They tend to stay to themselves and rival between gangs. Most of this crime is not gang related.
